In search of the oreo cookie: Attempt1

Im probably one of the few people who enjoys the cookie part of an oreo more than the cream. I love the crispy dark chocolatey goodness. Thats why I decide to try baking them at home.

Attempt one:
I used the chocolate sandwhich cookie recipe off of food network dot com. These really dont merit a picture. there weren't enough wet ingredients to bind the dough together which meant adding water (gasp!). Also there was too much leavening(baking soda and baking powder?). The result was a fluffy cookie full of air bubbles. moist is nice but definitely not what i was looking for. It definitely did not satisfy my craving for crunchy, deep chocolate flavor. i ate them anyway, of course, but still. not good.
